F/Sgt. Tessa Rehaluk named Preeceville squadron鈥檚 cadet of the year

F/Sgt. Tessa Rehaluk was named cadet of year during the Preeceville Harvard Air Cadet Squadron鈥檚 annual review at the Preeceville Legion Hall on June 17. Rehaluk was also presented the award for senior female proficiency.

The cadets stood in formation as Mayor Garth Harris, reviewing officer, inspected the squadron prior to the official march past when cadets saluted Harris. F/Cpl. Jordan Lowe was presented with the award for the best cadet on parade.

LAC Eric Prestie was presented with the best first-year cadet. Prestie was also presented the junior male marksmanship award. Cpl. Rayanne Westermann was presented with the award for the most contribution by a second-year cadet.

F/Cpl. Zachary Larson was presented the Lee Burym Award for 小蓝视频 the top survival cadet. Cpl. Morgan McLean received the junior female marksmanship award.

W02 Cole Bilanchuk was presented with the senior male marksmanship award, the senior male proficiency award and a graduation award. W01 Corianne Metherell received the senior female marksmanship and graduation awards.

LAC Omar Hamm received the junior male achievement award. LAC Almina Kovcic was presented the junior female achievement award. Perfect attendance pins were awarded to: Reagan Dobson, Ellian Singkala, Braden McLean and Tessa Rehaluk.

Proficiency awards were presented to cadets from level two to level five. Level two awards went to: Reagan Dobson, Oman Hamm, Janhia Irlandez, Almina Kovcic, Lezlie Morales, Dweight Paligan, Eric Prestie, Ellian Singkala and Ryan Young.

Level three awards went to: Christina Acosta, Benjamin Larson, Morgan McLean, Willen Paligan, Audrey Vargas and Rayanne Westermann. Level four awards went to: Zachary Larson, Jordan Lowe, Braden McLean and Zanthany Olson, while level five awards went to: Roberta Kaytor and Sean Paligan.

Promoted from leading air cadet (LAC) to corporal were: Reagan Dobson, Oman Hamm, Janhia Irlandez, Almina Kovcic, Lezlie Morales, Dweight Paligan, Eric Prestie, Ellian Singkala and Ryan Young.

Promoted from corporal to flight corporal were: Christina Acosta, Benjamin Larson, Morgan McLean, Willen Paligan, Audrey Vargas and Rayanne Westermann.

Promoted from flight corporal to sergeant were: Zachary Larson, Jordan Lowe and Braden McLean. Promoted from sergeant to flight sergeant were: Roberta Kaytor and Sean Paligan.

Officers and civilian personnel include: Troy Rogowski, commanding officer; Ian Abbot, civilian officer; Dustin Hamilton and Levi Young, volunteer staff.

"This evening is about the cadets and their achievements," said Rogowski. "I have been lucky to be commanding officer to such a great group and year after year you continue to amaze me.

鈥淚t is your hard work and dedication to the program that allows the squadron to succeed,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t takes a huge commitment to remain with the program through the years. You have to dedicate time for training and weekend exercises and, as a teenager, sometimes that can be a hard choice.

鈥淚 can see in each one of you that dedication paying off."
