The Preeceville Wildlife Club sponsored a Fish Artwork contest with 41 student entries. There were 513 posters from across Saskatchewan that were judged by the Saskatchewan Wildlife head office officials in Regina, stated Heather Gawrelitza, Preeceville Wildlife representative.
The contest was open for Grades 4 to 6 Saskatchewan students. All submissions had to be original, creative and show fish found in Saskatchewan in their natural habitat. Gawrelitza and Shane Nelson presented the winning Preeceville students with fishing rods and tackle boxes on June 20.
Winning students selected in a random draw were: Devon Purdy, Fiona Pinaroc and Ally Apland.
"Our club members are very happy to be able to offer this program in the Preeceville School,鈥 Gawrelitza said. 鈥淲e plan on keeping it going for years to come. The wildlife club is responsible for hosting a firearm safety course, the fish in schools program, sponsoring two students to camp and focuses on promoting safe habitat for wildlife. The club will be hosting an Amazing Race event at the Preeceville Wildlife Park on July 8," she concluded.
