SASKATOON — In an exciting Saturday, May 13 event, the Saskatoon Fire Department and Saskatoon Police Service joined forces to host Exxplore 2023 at the SPS station.
The event drew the participation of 110 enthusiastic community members eager to get a glimpse into the extraordinary world of our front-line services.
The SFD and SPS collaborated seamlessly, providing a captivating display of their skills, expertise, and shared experiences, shedding light on the rewarding careers in our emergency services.
The SFD captivated the audience by showcasing its ladder truck and its remarkable capabilities, an active fire engine demonstrating water pumping with hose lines, live paramedic skills demonstrations, and an exciting relay race highlighting firefighters' physical demands. Each registered participant had the opportunity to engage in these activities actively.
Diesel, a remarkable member of the SPS's esteemed K-9 Unit astounded the crowd with an impressive showcase of his abilities. Attendees were also given an exclusive tour of the Bear Cat unit, witnessing the cutting-edge weaponry employed to ensure compliance. These first-hand demonstrations left a lasting impression on the audience.
