聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Etoimamie Valley Riders Club allowed avid horse riders to showcase their skills at various events during the gymkhana event which was part of the Sturgis Sports and Rodeo weekend on June 24 and June 25.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bryce Young was the announcer for the two-day event. Darlene Walker recorded the events. There were four age groups which featured weepee, peewee, junior and senior competitors. Events held over the two days featured barrels, poles, keyhole and speed barrels.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In the weepee barrel and poles event on Saturday and Sunday, Blake Hedin of St. Brieux won first and Kaisley Hrabarchuk of Benito, Man. won second. Third place was won by Ella Sywenky of Hudson Bay on Saturday and Jade Beatty of Sturgis on Sunday.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In the weepee games on Saturday, Blake Hedin won first; Kaisley Hrabarchuk won second, and Ella Sywenky won third. On Sunday, Blake Hedin placed first; Sywenky placed second, and Aislyn Hedin placed third.
