The monthly community potluck for August was held on Wed., Aug. 10. There was a good turnout and everyone visited while they enjoyed the selection of tasty dishes brought for the supper table.

Just a reminder - everyone is welcome to join in the fun at the Hut. The next potluck will be on Wed., Sept. 14 and we hope to see you there.

Tina Lipinski of Regina and her daughters, Donna Cruickshank also of Regina and Fran Simpson from Raymore were visitors with sister-in- law and auntie, Mary Nagy, one day last week.

Birthday wishes go to Sharon (McAlpine) Tabbernor of Spy Hill who celebrated a big one Aug. 16. She is finally on Harper's payroll! Peter and Audrey Nielsen were guests at a special birthday supper and evening hosted by Sharon and her husband, Dave.

Roger Anderson and friend, Pauline, of Vancouver, BC were visitors in Dubuc over the weekend in their motorhome. They managed to catch up to friends and former neighbours, including Edith Simle, Len and Gladys Simle, John and Gayla Hedstrom and Peter and Audrey Nielsen. Roger grew up on a farm in the Round Lake district south of Dubuc.

Ken Allan celebrated his birthday by treating everyone at Coffee Row to cookies and "free" coffee on Sat.,, Aug 20. "Free" is probably a misnomer when you look at it from the birthday boy's point of view!

Terry Loutitt from Esterhazy and Elaine Kacsmar, also of Esterhazy were two former Dubucites visiting at coffee row recently renewing acquaintances. It always adds to the morning fellowship when we have visitors dropping by.

Diane and Marvin Horachek have had her daughter, Marni Plunkett and grandchildren, Kaylee and Brendan visiting from Calgary. They were at the camper parked for the season at Sunset Beach, Crooked Lake when the severe hailstorm hit on Mon., Aug. 15. They were shocked at the severity of the storm but were otherwise unharmed. Their camper and vehicles did not fair so well with the baseball-sized hailstones. The Talbots and Toplisses were not at their campers, which were also damaged in the same storm. Beach Owner Kevin Criddle says it was the worst storm he has ever seen in over 50 years of living at the resort!

The monthly birthday party was held at the Hut on Aug. 24. Everyone enjoyed a lovely lunch of buns and cake along with the ice cream supplied by Peter Nielsen, who was the only person present celebrating a birthday in August. Happy Birthday and best wishes for a great year ahead, Peter.
