A call has gone out from the Kamsack Powerhouse Museum to all district artists to have examples of their work exhibited at the third annual art show and sale.
The event is 小蓝视频 held at the OCC Hall in Kamsack on July 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., said Darlene Brown, an organizer.
鈥淲e鈥檇 love to see photographs, sketches, drawings and paintings and will welcome pieces from the artists who are exhibiting at the Madge Lake art store,鈥 Brown said, encouraging students from grades 5 to 12 in Kamsack, Keeseekoose and Cote First Nations to consider bringing in pieces.
鈥淣ot only will the pieces be shown, they may also be for sale,鈥 she said. Artists will not be charged to exhibit their works and may bring in as many or as few pieces as they wish.
鈥淭he show is a good way to advertise an artist鈥檚 work and is a wonderful way for them to meet one another.
鈥淟ast year 13 district artists from Kamsack, Runnymede, Pelly and Veregin exhibited their pieces and this year we hope for more, including from Swan River and Madge Lake,鈥 she said. The show is a great way for artists to receive the exposure they might need.
Although craftspersons are not normally included in the art show because there are other craft exhibits held in the community, Brown said that this year, as a special welcome to a new resident to the community who is a multi-media artist who carves, that person is 小蓝视频 invited to display his carvings as well as his paintings.
Members of the public who will be attending the show will be charged an admission of $5 which covers the cost of refreshments, she said.
