Emily McNair will be instructing a two-day dance workshop for dancers of all ages during the Studio Dance One dance intensive workshop in Preeceville on September 14 and 15.

"The workshop is for all ages and dance abilities," said McNair. "The conditioning classes will help students work on their skills as a dancer in tap, jazz, ballet and lyrical dances," she said.

Born and raised in Regina, McNair has been dancing for most of her life. She grew up dancing at Myers School of Dance and Applause Dance Academy in Regina, where she trained extensively in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, hip hop, modern and musical theatre. In addition to her regular training, she attended various summer schools and training programs with Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Centre and The Rockettes in New York City; Harbour Dance Centre and Vancouver Tap Festival in Vancouver and the Alberta Ballet as well as several others across Saskatchewan. Her dance career includes performances in Grease in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; TeleMiracle; Alberta Ballet鈥檚 Nutcracker ballet; as well as a number of other local and national performances.

Emily has been teaching dance for over 15 years and is currently on faculty at Dance City Inc. in Regina, where she teaches pre-school, tap, jazz and ballet classes. She is an associate member with Canadian Dance Teachers Association in Tap, and has studied the Royal Academy of Dance, CDTA and Association Dance Arts for Professional Teachers syllabi.

"I am thrilled to have been invited to teach at Studio Dance One Club and look forward to some great dancing," she concluded.
