Preparation work for a new season at the Preeceville Curling rink has been hectic but the season was scheduled to start on November 12.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The icemaker for this season is Sheldon Luciw, with Dale Schur assisting him.
Many volunteers have been busy getting everything ready. Among the many volunteers helping with preparing the ice are: Tim Olson, Ralph Ager, Eugene Gulka, Joe Luciw, Jim Paterson, Joe Yacyshyn and Roy Fairburn.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The schedule for the season is calling for Tuesday and Wednesday nights to be set aside for regular curling. On Thursday there will be two-on-two curling. There is senior curling on Monday afternoons. Friday night is for family glow-in-the-dark curling. Persons wanting to join as a team or as individuals can contact an executive member.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 It was agreed to occasionally have wing nights on Friday nights.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The season opener bonspiel will be held December 4 and 5. It will be a two-on-two bonspiel.
Recently, about 15-20 members got together for a mass rink cleaning. Essentially, the whole inside of the rink was cleaned.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The rink committee agreed to make the facility available for rent again this year.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The main open bonspiel will be held in March.
