Application for a portion of the funding for the new aquatic facility project and getting ready for site excavation were among the items of interest to Town Council at its regular meeting on July 6.
Council accepted the bid of Wyonzek Bros. Construction to prepare the new aquatic facility site at the following rates: D7 cat- $210 per hour, D4 cat- $180 per hour, Excavator- $200 per hour,
Skid steer- $130 per hour, and Tandem trucks- $110 per hour.
Council agreed to apply to allocate $104,062 in New Deal funding to a portion of the 2021 new aquatic facility project and agreed with the terms and conditions of this program, will manage the completion of the project and fund the municipal share of the costs.
That council suspended its regular meeting and opened a public hearing regarding the discretionary use placement of a mobile home at 345 Korbin Avenue (Lot 4, Block 10, Plan 101824152).
After no personal or written representations were received, council closed the public hearing and
approved the discretionary use placement of a mobile home at 345 Korbin Avenue.
Council suspended its regular meeting and opened a public hearing regarding the discretionary use of a home occupation at 226 Second Avenue West (Lots 6 and 22, Block 13, Plan S1372).
After no personal or written representations were received, council closed the public hearing and approve the discretionary use of a home occupation at 226 Second Avenue West.
The regular council meeting was resumed.
Council accepted the offer of Robert Ereth to purchase Lots 22-23, Block 186, Plan Z5500 at 142 Northern Avenue for $1,000 plus GST, provided the current year鈥檚 taxes are prepaid and that payment is received within 30 days.
Council authorized Tetra Tech Canada to proceed with Concept Design 1 for a new transfer station as shown in their July 2, 2021 proposal.
A bylaw to enter into agreement regarding Civic Centre ice maintenance and caretaking was introduced, read three times and adopted.
