The Town of Preeceville council approved the minutes from its August meeting at the regular meeting held on September 16.
The Waste Water Treatment Facility project was a signficant topic that came up for discussion. Council accepted the report presented by Colliers Project Leaders. It was also approved to pay Acadia Construction Ltd, $503,029 on accounts for the project with $384,379 of that total drawn from the Town's Waste Water Treatment Plant project operating loan and $118,650 drawn from the Town's New Deal Reserve and Term Deposit with the Crossroads Credit Union to cover the Town's portion.
The proposal from MPE Ltd. to provide engineering services for the lift station upgrades project for $21,000 was accepted.
The bylaw officer report was accepted with two reports of violation of the Town Animal Control bylaw. A residence on Second Street Northeast and another on Second Avenue Northeast were reported and the Town鈥檚 lawyer instructed that these offenders should be taken to court to have the dogs removed from town.
Other reports accepted were: Town Forman, Mayor, Community Development, Recreation Director and Chief Administrator reports.
The quote from Squareone Consulting Ltd to provide air monitoring and consulting services for Phase 3 of the 20 Main Street Asbestos Abatement project in the amount of $3,500 was accepted.
The quote from Penta Restoration Services to provide asbestos removal for Phase 3 of the 20 Main Street Asbestos Abatement project in the amount of $68,609 was accepted.
Quotes from BBB Construction to replace the sidewalk on First Avenue Northeast on the north side of the street from First Street Northwest to Second Street Northwest in the amount of $12,551 was accepted.
Town approved the Sports grounds budget of $7,500.
Chris Smith was hired for the position of arena management and shop labourer.
Two building permits were approved; one for a fence and one for the building of a shed.
The lease agreement between the Town of Preeceville and Studio Dance One for using the upstairs of the Preeceville Recreation Centre was approved.
The 2020 RCMP Rural Policy in the amount of $54,185 was approved.
Committee reports submitted and accepted were: Preeceville Ability Bus, Preeceville Legion Hall fundraiser committee and the Preeceville Fire Department report.
