The Canora/ Sturgis RCMP responded to 35 calls for service during the reporting period, some of which included: three traffic collisions, 16 traffic offences, one theft of vehicle, one break and enter, one fraud, one impaired driver, one assault, and one mischief.

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP are investigating a hit and run at the Gateway Lodge in Canora that occurred on January 21 between 5:30 a.m., and 2 p.m. An unknown vehicle collided with the passenger side of a silver Hyundai Elantra that was legally parked on the street in front of the Lodge. The driver of the unknown vehicle did not report the accident. If you saw this accident or have any information, please contact the Canora RCMP

On January 24 the Canora/ Sturgis RCMP received a call reporting a mange coyote was in Endeavour. RCMP attended but were unable to locate the coyote. The Canora RCMP would like to advise that as winter gets longer lots of coyotes and foxes will come into town limits to try and find an easy meal or somewhere warm to stay. Please call the RCMP if you think the animals pose any risk and do not approach the animals.

On January 25 the entire Canora/Sturgis RCMP area experienced freezing rain, causing very bad road conditions throughout the area. The RCMP responded to several vehicle collisions and vehicles hitting the ditch, however, no injuries or serious collisions were reported.聽 The RCMP would like to thank and applaud the public for staying off the roads when possible and slowing down and driving safely if travel was necessary.聽

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP received several more calls this week reporting that snowmobiles were in Canora revving their engines and driving recklessly. The RCMP will be looking to start laying charges on snowmobile drivers if this does not improve and drivers do not start 小蓝视频 courteous to the public.

From January 22 to 24 the RCMP held their annual provincial charity hockey tournament in Saskatoon. RCMP members from across the province met in Saskatoon where eight teams from the RCMP along with a team from Saskatoon Police Service and SERM (Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management) played.

Three members of the Canora/ Sturgis RCMP detachment played for Team East, which won the B side of the tournament. Those members were: Cpl. Dallyn Holmstrom, Cst. Matt Walker, and Cst. Ryan Coleman.聽 A team from Depot won the A side of the tournament. The tournament raised approximately $5,000 for the Jim Pattison Children鈥檚 Hospital.聽
