The Canora/ Sturgis RCMP responded to 31 calls for service during the reporting period, some of which included: one assault, two missing person complaints, one Child Welfare Act, two thefts, one break and enter and two false alarms, and 11 traffic offences.
On February 20 at 3:35 p.m. Canora RCMP responded to a theft report at a residence in Canora.听 An unknown person walked up to the residence and stole numerous items. Police are requesting the public鈥檚 assistance with identifying a person of interest in the attached photo.

On February 23 at 6:52 p.m. Canora RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter in the town of Canora.听
A male forced entry into the home and assaulted a female inside the residence, stated an RCMP release. The victim was able to fight the male off and ran to a neighbouring residence where she called 911. The male was later located by police and arrested. The male is known to the victim and was subsequently charged.
Jason Ludba, of Canora, is charged with: break and enter, assault, criminal harassment, mischief and uttering threats.
Ludba was remanded into custody and made his first court appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on February 25.听 Ludba鈥檚 next scheduled Court appearance is in Canora Provincial Court on Thursday March 5 at 9:30 a.m.
