With the assistance of the complainant, police were able to identify a suspect and the property was recovered. If you have been a victim of theft and have not reported it, please call the Canora RCMP and do so. When a theft complaint is made to the police, a record is created and the property is documented on the file. If no police record exists and suspected stolen property is recovered, the task of proving the property was stolen or returning it to its rightful owner becomes very difficult.聽
Skirmish with RCMP
On June 23, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to a disturbance at a residence in Sturgis. Police attended and found two occupants in the home that had been drinking and were not getting along. During the investigation one of the occupants somehow lost all of his clothes and refused to comply with directions of police. The male became agitated and attempted to assault members. After a short struggle, the male was arrested without incident or injury and lodged in cells for the night. The male was charged with Assaulting a Police Officer and released for Court in Yorkton.
