When someone is lucky enough to win a prize in a random draw, it is extremely rare for the prize to be returned, yet that is exactly what Sofia Tratch did when presented with a new bike.
During Canora Junior Elementary School鈥檚 awards 小蓝视频 on June 22, the Canora Volunteer Fire Department organized a draw for the school鈥檚 reading program. Students who read books that are part of the Accelerated Reader program had their names placed in a draw for one of four bikes.
When Tratch鈥檚 name was pulled, she went up to the firefighters and said, 鈥淚 already have a bike.鈥 After speaking with her mother, Tratch decided to refuse to take the prize, and suggested the firefighters pull someone else鈥檚 name.
To thank Tratch for her kindness, Canora Volunteer Fire Department member Robert Fougere returned to the school on June 28, and presented the student with a $100 gift card for Canadian Tire.
Fougere said Trach鈥檚 actions were proof of selflessness and generosity during the presentation.
