This year has been, for many, at the very least, one of tension and uncertainty. Students, teachers and families throughout Canada have had to struggle and adjust to providing learning opportunities and help children succeed in their academic year, said Andrea Barteski, one of the organizers of the upcoming outdoor CCS graduation celebration.聽

鈥淲e are happy to announce that celebrations for the Canora Composite School Graduating Class of 2020 will proceed with a structured, and socially restricted event on June 29,鈥 said Barteski. A parade, starting at 2 p.m., will end at King George Park, where an outdoor 小蓝视频 will follow.

鈥淲hile this event cannot include the teachers and CCS staff, as directed by the Good Spirit School Division, our students have appreciated their teachers鈥 personal support and wanted to say they wished their teachers could attend,鈥 said Barteski.

The Town of Canora along with the members of the Graduation Class of 2020 would like to invite the residents of Canora and area to join in the events of the special day to celebrate their success.

The graduation parade will start at Centre Avenue East and proceed north down Main Street to Railway Avenue, east on Railway Avenue, south on Third Street, west on Second Avenue East, south on Main Street and end at King George Park.

The graduation 小蓝视频 will be held at King George Park at 3 p.m. Only invited guests with tokens will be allowed in the park during the 小蓝视频. The RCMP will be on site to assist in all social distancing protocol. Spectators are welcome to watch the 小蓝视频 on the outer perimeter of the park. On site at the park the Town of Canora will have all social distancing practices in effect.

Those practises include: all spectators must remain inside or within an arm鈥檚 reach of their vehicles, and are not permitted to move to other vehicles to go sit with or watch with friends. No objects may be passed between vehicles or between people watching the parade. Appropriate physical distancing must be maintained at all times. Individuals using other modes of transportation, such as walking or biking, should maintain two metres of physical distancing.

Barteski said organizers greatly appreciate the support of the Town of Canora, the local RCMP and Brandi Zavislak, community development officer, for helping to organize this event.
