聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Members of the Canora Community Curling Club are encouraging a new generation to pick up the sport of curling with weekly kids curling nights, which still has spots available for interested youth.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Interest for youth in curling has gone up from last year with a total of 24 curlers registered in 2017, said Michelle Hembling, spokesperson with the Canora Curling Club, but the club is still encouraging anyone interested to register.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The weekly designated time for children curlers is Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m., and children are free to curl on their own or take part in lessons to learn the basics.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Hembling acknowledged Bob Kolodziejski, Conrad Berehula, Terry Wilson and John Zbitniff, who have done 鈥渆xcellent work鈥 teaching the kids. She also stated that those willing to play will have equipment available for them to use thanks to a donation by Crossroads Credit Union.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚f it wasn鈥檛 for these people, we wouldn鈥檛 have children curling,鈥 said Hembling.
