聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Students from Canora joined over 2,000 students from the Parkland region who attended a career fair held in Yorkton.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A total of 45 Canora Composite School students from grades 10 to 12 attended Career Explorations 2016, which was held at the Gallagher Centre in Yorkton on November 18. This was the seventh annual education and career fair and it attracted close to 80 exhibitors from Saskatchewan, Western Canada, and North Dakota.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淭he students were able to visit many universities, colleges and trade school booths,鈥 said Katherine LeBlanc, the principal of Canora Composite School and one of the staff members who accompanied the students to the fair. 鈥淭he students enjoyed the opportunity and came out with many resources that will help them make career decisions in the future.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Career Explorations is the largest education and job fair in this region of Saskatchewan. It is organized by Parkland College, Good Spirit School Division, and Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The goal of the career fair is to provide students with many of the options available to them once they finish high school. Career Explorations puts all these options under one roof, the release said. Students and visitors accessed information from dozens of educational institutions and numerous companies from the agriculture, construction, health, and government sectors.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Career Explorations began in 2008 after a learning alliance was signed between Good Spirit School Division and Parkland College. Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools has expanded its role since joining the organizing committee in 2012.
