Buchanan Community Centre receives $2,000 for repairs

The Buchanan Community Centre is now able to better serve the community, thanks to a donation that funded much-needed repairs.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Buchanan Community Centre is now able to better serve the community, thanks to a donation that funded much-needed repairs.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Buchanan Community Centre was selected as the recipient of a donation of $2,000 through Community Futures Ventures鈥 Community Beautification Works Project. Bob Edwards, treasurer of the Centre, submitted an application in early June, and on November 23, the cheque was presented by Corinne Lubiniecki, the general manager of Community Futures Ventures.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淰olunteers worked hard at repairing and painting,鈥 said Brenda Airth, Community Futures Ventures administrator.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Those who helped with the Centre repairs included Edwards, Marie Kupchinski (board member), Pat Leung, (secretary), Morley Leung (president), Keith Beebe, Ivan Cheropita, Bob Evans, Bradley Loshka, Johnny Maximiuk, Adore Sorestad, Clifford Sorestad and Nick Woloschuk.
