BREDENBURY - Luncheon to be held at church

The Bredenbury Sunnyside Golf Course held their membership tournament on Sunday with fifteen members participating. Due to the spring flooding they had no club house to serve the meal from but a special thanks to Glenn & Laura Langford for the use of their facility. It was really appreciated by all. Flight winners for the tournament were Junior: Colby Jacob 1st (He had the lowest score of all golfers. Good Work Colby), Ty Jacob 2nd.

Men: Ken Morrison 1st, Robert Taylor 2nd, Dwight Leppington 3rd.

Sr. Men: Norman Thompson 1st, Lint Taylor 2nd.

Sr. Ladies: Louise McLachlan 1st, Laura Langford 2nd, Muriel Nicol 3rd.

All registered golfers received a prize. Special thanks to the sponsors and people who looked after this.

A delicious supper was served to about 40 people. Thanks to the ladies who brought the food and served it and to the hamburger cooks.

A raffle was held and the following were the winners:

1st: Rough Rider Jersey - Glen Griffin

2nd: $50 Co-op Gift Certificate from Yorkton - Ken Morrison

3rd: $50 Co-op Gift Certificate from Yorkton - June Thompson

4th: Lawn chair from Laycocks - Nathan Ritchie

Thanks to all who bought tickets and supported the raffle. Proceeds to help rebuild the course for next year.

Congratulations to Don Ray St. Marie and Ashley Lang who were married last weekend.

Sun., Sept. 21, United Church Joint Service will be held in Saltcoats at 9:30 a.m. Everyone welcome.

Sun., Sept. 28, there will be a church service at the Bredenbury Knox United Church *Note the change. Service will begin at 9:30 a.m.

A beef noon luncheon will be held on Wed., Sept. 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from the Knox United Church, Bredenbury. Everyone welcome. Take-out available.

Ann Mess, 98 yrs. old of Langenburg Care Home visited with Keith and Jean Thorsness this past week. Her son Andrew Mess of Ottawa was home visiting his mother and took her to Bredenbury and Saltcoats to visit and see how the towns had changed. A big hello to Ann from the community.

Dave & Sheila Herron flew to Grand Prairie and visited with Dave's brothers Max and Terri Herron & family. They then drove to Manning to visit with Glen & Marg Herron and family. They enjoyed travelling from there to the North West Territories sight-seeing. Good time was had by all.
