聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Individuals of all ages were welcomed to join in the fun of celebrating Canada 150 in Sturgis. The main feature was a fun bicycle parade with children and adults riding their decorated bicycles through the streets of the Town of Sturgis on August 20.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The parade started from the downtown park with Cst. Kennedy Gallant providing a police escort. After traveling the streets they ended at the Sturgis Community Hall where everyone enjoyed birthday cake, ice cream and strawberries.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Children enjoyed a craft table with trivia questions and entertainment provided by Gerald Steciuk. All participants in the bicycle parade received candy bags. Everyone who answered trivia questions correctly received Canadian-themed prizes. There were also guessing games with candies and Canadian Tire money.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Sharon Secundiak donated a prepared decorated Canada birthday cake.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Amber Pristie and Hazel Urbanoski were co-organizers for the event.
鈥淚t went over great with kids and adults enjoying the day,鈥 said Pristie. 鈥淲e would like to thank everyone who helped during and after the event to aid in the clean-up,"
She also thanked the Town of Preeceville which lent some of its Canada Day decorations towards the event.
