STURGIS — The Sturgis Archery Club has concluded another successful season.

“This year our club grew immensely, not only in numbers but skills as well,” stated Billyjoe Townsend, one of the organizers.

“As the season progressed our new archer’s knowledge and confidence flourished, as our returning members honed in their skill and precision. This was our first season with the 3D range in Endeavour, we noticed many archers’ skills excelled when the 3-D targets were in their sights. We also had a few members participate in the 3D provincial shoot in North Battleford this winter where Liam Townsend and Ross Townsend along with their coaches brought home medals,” said Townsend.

This spring the club had a good representation of archers at the JOP championship competition and SSA Indoor target provincials. Each and every archer made the Club proud with their determination to do their absolute best, and it showed with their impressive scores throughout the large group of archers that they completed against. Liam Townsend came home with a silver medal in the Olympian 270/275 category.

Throughout the season each and every one all of our members and coaches achieved greatness. For the upcoming season we are working on plans to keep up the momentum with our JOP target, 3D can-bow, feathers program, ladies nights, adult mail-match target and fun shoots. We look forward to a prosperous archery season to come for 2024-2025,” concluded Townsend.
