Another 50 dozen mittens donated to Victoria School

Students of Victoria School, who may have lost or forgotten their gloves or mittens on a cold day this winter, have access to 50 pair of hand-knitted mittens, thanks to Millie Currie.

Last week, Millie Currie of Kamsack donated 50 pair of hand-knitted mittens to the Victoria School. With Currie, from left were students Lacy Desnomie, Ty Keshane and Sophia Walter.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Students of Victoria School, who may have lost or forgotten their gloves or mittens on a cold day this winter, have access to 50 pair of hand-knitted mittens, thanks to Millie Currie.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Currie has been providing students with the hand-warmers for at least 15 years, first as a member of a project undertaken by the United Church Women and then she took on the project on her own.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淚 feel good giving the mittens to the students,鈥 Currie said recently. 鈥淭hey go quickly, and the students love them.鈥

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Currie, who tries to use up donated yarn, said she usually starts knitting the mittens in March or April, and is able to knit about two pair a week.聽
