The annual Remembrance Day Service was very different this year with an outdoor service held with only Preeceville Legion members invited. No members of the public were allowed at this year's service due to the COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
The service, which is usually held at the Preeceville Community Legion Hall, was moved to the outdoor cenotaph located at the Town of Preeceville administration building.
Flag bearers were Darwin and Donna Chalupiak, and Phil and Agnes Murrin. William Lesko was the master of ceremonies for the brief service.
The service kicked off with the playing of a recording of O Canada followed by the reading of the names of those from the community who lost their lives in war.
Pastor Hein Bertram played Last Post followed by a cannon shot and two minutes of silence. A second cannon rang out after the silence and Reveille was played by Bertram.
William Lesko lead the reciting of Act of Remembrance with all in attendance participating.
Pastor Brad Steppan gave the prayer, benediction and blessings.
The playing of God Save the Queen concluded the service.
Wreaths that were sponsored by the community were laid prior to the service.
Andrea Tonn and her daughter Jillian Tonn were responsible for recording the service and making it available online.
