On Sunday, October 10 at approximately 1:20 am, Punnichy RCMP members were called to a train accident with a pedestrian.
The collision occurred 1 mile west of Lestock, SK. On the Muskowekwan First Nation. The collision claimed the life of 1 person. The deceased is a male and his identity has not been determined. The matter remains under investigation with no further information available at this time.
Charges laid in June robberyOn June 3, 2010, two masked suspects armed with a firearm entered Family Pizza in Yorkton and robbed the lone employee at gun point. No injuries occurred and only a small amount of cash was stolen.
Members of Yorkton Municipal RCMP, the Yorkton General Investigation Section, The Forensic Identification Section, and Police Dog Services participated in a joint investigation that has resulted in the following charges:
Nineteen-year-old Blaine Lukas Quewezance and a 16-year-old male, both of Yorkton, have been charged with robbery with a firearm and wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence.
Quewezance appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on October 6, 2010, and was remanded in custody. His next court date is set for October 14, 2010.
The youth appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on October 8, 2010, and was also remanded in custody. The youth will also be appearing before the court on October 14, 2010.
