The Health Foundation's Scholarship Fund began in 2002 when the foundation and TD undertook to mutually fund an education program for five years.
After five years the awards were reviewed and both the TD and The Health Foundation found the education program to be very effective and decided to continue the program.
Today The Health Foundation and TD Bank Financial Group announced the recipients of the Fall Education Awards for 2010. Applications are considered twice each year and awards are given each spring and fall. This fall 10 awards are 小蓝视频 made for a total of $8,472.
The Health Foundation's Scholarship Fund awards approximately $20,000 a year to help further the training and education of health care staff in east central Saskatchewan. The TD Bank Financial Group contributes $12,000 annually to fund 50% of the awards. The education awards program is very well received by Sunrise Health Region staff.
We are just completing the first year of a new three-year commitment TD Bank Financial Group has made to this program. This agreement will take us to 11 consecutive years TD has partnered with The Health Foundation and made a very significant investment in our local healthcare system through this education program.

"This program has had tremendous success since it started," said Mr. Haywood. "We have successfully assisted our nurses and therapists to enhance their education and improve their skills.
This program has helped improve the quality of healthcare available in our local medical facilities."
The Health Foundation Education Committee and TD Bank Financial Group presented a total of 10 awards: nine to individuals and one for educational resource materials.

Since the program started in 2002, there have been 200 awards totaling $189,012. The Health Foundation normally grants up to $20,000 in educational awards, but if some awards are unused those funds are carried forward and made available in the next round of applications.
The next deadline for applications by healthcare staff is April 16, 2011. Posters and application forms will be circulated to all Sunrise Health Region facilities and departments in the spring.
