Outlook Dominates City Race Track

Local drivers show talent in Saskatoon event

The racing may have taken place away from home, but leave it to a group of drivers from Outlook to show the ‘big city folks’ how it’s done.

A total of eight local race car drivers took to the track at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon on Sunday, September 24 for the Enduro and ‘Run Your Junk’ race day event; Alyssa Derdall, Taylor Derdall, Guy Derdall, Skyler Eliason, Travis Klotz, Nicholas Lucki, Austin Lockhart, and Mike Schroeder.

By the time the engines had stopped roaring, the tires had stopped squealing, and the last flags had been waved, the local racing talent was very well-represented in the standings.  Schroeder took top honours in the Enduro event, placing 1st in both segments and taking 25 points to finish at #1.

In the Run Your Junk feature race, it was Alyssa Derdall who came out the winner, placing 1st and taking 40 points while gaining a best lap time of 19.567 seconds.  Outlook seemed to dominate the top five racers in this event, as Skyler Eliason came in behind Derdall to place 2nd, while Nicholas Lucki came in 5th.

Other showings in the feature race included Shroeder placing 9³Ù³óÌý(driven by Guy Derdall), Travis Klotz placing 10th, Taylor Derdall placing 14th, and Austin Lockhart placing 27th.

Alyssa celebrated her championship win with her dedicated pit crew, family and friends, sharing on social media that it was great to race alongside her friends.  The proverbial cherry on top of her impressive win may have been the fact that the very next day happened to be her 21st birthday.

For any future drivers interested in taking part in this event next year, they're asked to contact Guy Derdall of Allstar Towing at (306) 867-6571.
