Next up in the Yorkton Arts Council's 2010/11 Stars for Saskatchewan series is International Guitar Night, the world's top touring guitar showcase.

Each year, San Francisco "guitar poet" and show founder Brian Gore assembles a new group of accomplished acoustic guitarists to join him on a tour spanning three countries. The ever-changing blend of four distinctive musicians gives a unique sound to every tour.

This year's lineup brings together Clive Carroll, who is regarded as one of the best acoustic guitar players and composers in Britain; Alexandre Gismonti, a young Brazilian performer whose blended style is starting to earn him worldwide attention; and Italy's Pino Forastiere, who has drawn comparisons to numerous musical legends over the years.

Yorkton's November 19 show falls in the middle of International Guitar Night's fall and winter tour of Britain, the United States, and Canada. Concertgoers can look forward to a night of original guitar music that combines styles and genres from all corners of the western world.

The show begins at 8 pm at Yorkton Regional High School's Anne Portnuff Theatre. Tickets are available for $30 from the Arts Council office or the Welcome Home Floral & Gift Shop.
