Congratulations from Dubuc and community go out to Crystal Clark and Pete Semchyshen of Saskatoon who were married in their back yard on the September long weekend with a small gathering of family and friends present. Many years of happiness to you both.

Gerald Ramstead of Yorkton was in Dubuc recently visiting with his aunt, Mary Ramstead. Then a few days later, his brother, Gordon Ramstead, from La Pas, MB dropped in on Aunt Mary. Gordon was in the area helping with the harvest on a farm near Churchbridge.

Reinier DeVries has his father, Reindeer DeVries, visiting from Poland. A friend, Alex, from back home in Holland is working for Reinier, helping to bring in the harvest. Both Dad & Alex enjoy learning about the Canadian harvest.

Sharon Clark spent her "end of the summer" holidays visiting with her children: Stacey and Lana & family at Clavet, Crystal and Pete Semchyshen and their family in Saskatoon, Tammy and Sam Nguyen and boys of Cochrane, AB and last, but not least, she enjoyed a nine day stay at Sechelt, BC with Darrell and Jessie. Some highlights of her visit to the Island were having lunch at Molly's Reach, Gibson's Landing; touring Half Moon Bay; walking the trails at Skookumchuck Park; sticking her feet into the Pacific Ocean; & viewing Salmon during their spawning run. The time passed quickly, soon she was flying back to Calgary. She drove all the way from Cochrane via Saskatoon/Clavet in pouring rain so that made her even happier to arrive back home.

The monthly community birthday party was held on Wed. Sept. 22 at the hut. Regardless of the fact that no one with a September birthday was able to attend, everyone enjoyed the lunch, including birthday cake, after playing a friendly game of whist. Glenda Bell fetched Mom, Jessie Stokes, from Bangor Lodge to attend the afternoon party as, at 99, she always enjoys a visit with her Dubuc friends.

News from the Potashville Dance Club has arrived via a note in the drop-off box at the hut. Thank-you very much for that little note. A dance held at the Memorial Hall on Sept. 18 was well attended. People came from Brandon, Russell, Grenfell, Canora and many other points far and near. Ed Hickie of Waldron supplied the music for the evening. Everyone enjoyed a good lunch at the end of the dancing. All in all, a good dance with great music and a delicious lunch left everyone looking forward to the next dance on Oct 9 that will feature Country music and western dress.
