Saltcoats United Church worship time for Sept. 5, is 11:30 a.m. Choir begins on Wed., Sept. 1, at 2:00 p.m.The local library will have The Saltcoats Agricultural Society Photo Album #1 for viewing on Wednesday afternoon until 3:30 p.m. Earlier this 2010 the photo albums were viewed at the library. That instance brought about people submitting information for about 14 more pages as well as the 4H box of 1947 - 1980 events. In the album watch for a picture of what is believed was the agricultural hall! For any of you who have read a historical account of a dance where there was a "dance card", talk about lead time and pre planning - the band listed the 20 dances and that also went to a print shop not the copier. There is a page of minutes signed by Lois Neal and a receipt for "5 gallons of ice cream for $6.95". There is proof that Ken Torrie sold his club calf for 17-1/2 cents a pound. 1962 saw the development of a "potato" club with 15 members (beef club still went on). Achievement day was October 6, 1962. The prize committee was Jim Gibson and Don Larson. The Program and Lunch committee was Shirley Price, Herb Rooke, Dave Work and Marj Ellingboe. Great reading!
