Saskatchewan East Enterprise Region (SEER) is now accepting applications for matched funding."The Board of Directors have chosen to use the matching funds available to SEER to fund projects in the region and we are inviting all groups or individuals currently working on a regional project to apply for matched funding."says Kim Wondrasek, CEO of SEER.Projects will be funded on a matching basis, with the applicant providing a minimum of 60% of the funding and SEER providing up to 40% of the total project cost to a maximum of $50,000. Funds may not be used for capital projects, such as the purchase, construction, or renovation of facilities.Funds must be used for business plans, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, architectural drawings, etc.
To be eligible to apply for SEER project funding, an applicant must meet three eligible requirements;
1. the project must have a primary purpose that meets the SEER mandate which is to increase business and industry competitiveness, realize its economic potential, and compete globally,2. the project must have local and or regional partnerships and3. the applicant must reside in the SEER region that extends from the Manitoba border in the east to Foam Lake, Ituna and Montmartre in the west and from Canora and Kamsack in the north to Moosomin in the south.
Applications from business, community and market based entities in the east central region can be submitted to access the funding in key sectors such as: agriculture, agri-value, biofuels and bio-products, construction and land development, energy home building, life sciences and biotechnology, manufacturing, minerals and tourism.
Projects must focus on development occurring under one of the following four strategic directions of Enterprise Saskatchewan:building regional economies, fostering a culture of enterprise and innovation, building on competitive advantages, or engaging leadership and effective governance.
The nature of what drives the provincial economy is changing rapidly, and Saskatchewan is poised to enjoy tremendous economic growth and we must adapt to strengthen our competitive position during these changing times.By providing matched funding to the east central region we are building communities together.
