Possession for Purpose of Trafficking Cannabis Marihuana/PsilocybinDuring the evening of May 25th Kamsack RCMP initiated into an investigation concerning person's transporting cannabis marihuana along with psilocybin(magic mushrooms) into the Kamsack district. As a result of this investigation Kamsack members stopped a vehicle on #8 highway just south of Kamsack. Located in the vehicle was a quantity of cannabis marihuana as well as psilocybin(magic mushrooms). Three people located in the vehicle were arrested and have been charged with possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking. Two 23 year old males and a 20 year old female, residents of Kamsack will be appearing in Kamsack Provincial Court on June 15th.

Anyone with information on illegal drug activity in the Kamsack district is encouraged to contact the Kamsack Detachment or Crime Stoppers.

Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) Combines Forces with the Australian Police to Rescue a victim living in SaskatchewanThe Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) received information from Australian law enforcement with respect to the potential abuse of a young person living in Saskatchewan. An investigative package from the child exploitation task force in Queensland, Australia resulted in the execution of a search warrant on a farm in the Melville area on May 27th.

The joint investigation resulted in the arrest of a 58 year old individual who has been charged with Internet Luring and Sexual Exploitation of a person under 18 Years of Age. The 58 year-old will be appearing in a Regina Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on May 28.

The victim has been identified and is now safe. Saskatchewan ICE investigators are not aware of any other victims regarding this occurrence, but continue to investigate to ensure that all children at risk are identified.The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has a mandate of conducting investigations into the abuse, exploitation, and luring of children on the internet. Police remind the public to report any incidents of child exploitation by contacting their local police service or Cybertip.ca.

Canada Road Safety Week ResultsCanada Road Safety Week took place May 18 to May 24, 2010. During that time period, RCMP "F" Division Traffic Services supported initiatives designed to increase public compliance with safe driving measures and ultimately to save lives.

RCMP Traffic Services tabulated results during this week-long initiative, based on offenses and numbers of tickets issued. The results are as follows:2010:Twenty-four hour suspensions: 47Impaired - Alcohol: 65Impaired - Drugs: 1 Non-Seatbelt Use: 284Aggressive driving charges: 381Fatal Collisions: 4

The focus during Canada Road Safety Week was on behaviours that reduce risks for drivers, passengers, such as sober and alert driving, seat belt use, and refraining from all aspects of aggressive driving.

Break and enterOn May 10 at approximately 2:45 AM Yorkton RCMP attended to a break and enter at the Yorkton New Holland dealership situated on the east side of Yorkton, along Hwy #10 East. Culprit(s) pried open a west side door to gain entry.

Police responded but the culprits(s) had left the scene.Anyone with information regarding this break and enter or any other crime is asked to call the Yorkton Rural RCMP at 786-4500 or Crime Stoppers.

Theft from businessOn May 1, the Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment responded to a complaint of theft from a local business on Second Avenue North between Broadway and Smith Street in the business district of Yorkton. Sometime during the afternoon of May 1, a clear box for donations to Haiti was taken from the till counter area of the store. The box contained an undisclosed amount of money.
