Furtneys celebrate 60th anniversary

Congratulations to Donald and Beth Furtney on their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Wishes come from all of us here at Zorra. Hope you have good health and many more years of married life together.Gerald Schepp took a trip to Vernon for a short vacation.

Debbie Sveinson and son Chase from Winnipeg, were out to take in the Funeral for Uncle Ken Curle and visited with her Mom Marlene and Jack Miller.

Marlene Miller and Mildred Danylko took a trip to Regina where they visited with Rod and Corrine Curle and family.

At our regular whist drive, there were seven tables in play. Winners on the gents side were 1st High: Jack Miller, 2nd: Gladys Tkachuk, Low: Nick Antony. Elma Eftoda took the travelling prize. On the ladies side it was Lovie Bangle 1st High, 2nd: Jean Goba, Low: Mary Sobkow and Elsie Baumung took the travelling prize. Our Pot of Gold winners were 1st: Lorne Cockerill, 2nd: Peter Werischuk, 3rd went to Murray Andrews.

At our afternoon whist, we had seven tables in play with guests coming out from Yorkton, Roblin, MacNutt, Calder & Churchbridge. Winners for the afternoon were 1st: Judy Becker, 2nd: Gerhardt Severin, 3rd: Jack Miller, 4th: Norman Wozney and Low went to Gordon Kahut. Door prize winner was Helen Cockerill. Pot of Gold winners were 1st: Cedric van Drecth, 2nd: Marlene Miller, 3rd: Elsie Baumung, 4th: Mary Sobkow. Silent auction winners were, 1st: Ella Becker (3 times winners), Margie Mankish, Helen Cockerill, Marlene Miller, Myrtle McKay, Mildred Danylko, Judy Becker and Gladys Tkachuk. We thank everyone of you for coming out and supporting our club. Hope to see you again at our regular whist drive.

Hope everyone is enjoying our winter weather. We are definately going to have a white Christmas. Now that out driveways are cleared, we have a beautiful white winter.
