Fall community worship planned

Davies funeral service last Wednesday afternoon. Dallas and Danya Forsberg of Regina spent overnight with Grandma Mary Forsberg when they were in Dubuc for the funeral.

Curtis Boyechko from North Vancouver was home to Esterhazy to visit with parents, Jeanette and Ed, and also grandparents, John and Judy Talbot. Vivian and Jim Talbot visited with their nephew on Saturday.

Curtis and his parents took in the "Labour Day Classic" Football game on Sunday before Curtis caught the plane home.

Linda (Kopetski) Prue from Toronto, Ont. spent a few days in the area visiting with her aunts, Mary Forsberg and Judy and John Talbot. Cousins, Jeanette, Ed and Curtis Boyechko, took her golfing and walking on the hiking trails around Esterhazy. Jim and Vivian Talbot also visited with his cousin, Linda while she was in town visiting at Forsberg's.

Joan and John Wilson visited with son, Kent and Kathy Wilson in Regina for the weekend.

The Dubuc Heritage Worship Centre Committee has planned a fall/Thanksgiving worship service to be held in the Dubuc Worship Centre at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 17. If anyone has vegetables, preserves, etc. to lend us to decorate the sanctuary, please bring them or call Vivian Talbot to pick them up. This is a community worship service - all denominations are invited to take part - everyone is welcome. Mark the date on your calendars.

Sympathy is extended to Gladys and Matt Smith on the passing of her sister-in-law, George Mitchell's wife, Betty, from Killarney . Sympathy also to George, as well as, Verna McAskey and John Mitchell of Stockholm & Joyce Wass of Winnipeg, MB. All the siblings were able to attend the funeral on September 4 in Killarney, MB. Gladys reported having had a special visit with niece, Julie, who was home from Australia for her mom's funeral.

Diane and Ed Reid were down from Regina visiting Aunt Mary Nagy. They love to get out of the city to spend a few days just enjoying the quiet.

Earle and Nina Moller are entertaining guests this week, their daughter, Heather, from London Ont and granddaughter, Hali Yaremko, and great-grandson, William Victor Dawson Blake, from Victoria, BC. This is the first time they have met little 5-month-old William and are enjoying getting to know him. They also enjoyed taking him and the girls, of course, out to meet with friends and neighbours at the community pot luck supper Wed., Sept. 8.

Tanis Edwards from Nanaimo, BC surprised her parents, Audrey and Peter Nielsen, when she arrived for an unannounced two week stay. She has visited with grandma, Cis Nielsen, of the Bangor Morris Lodge, as well as, many other relatives and friends in the area. Tanis has been a visitor at coffee row and at the Sept. pot luck supper at the Hut. Speaking of coffee row, Bill Bisch brought us all news from Grayson one day last week, too.

Rodney Johnson is home from the NWT visiting his mother, Edith Simle, for a few days.

Pastor Rick & Kathleen Gibson visited with Don & Glenda Bell on their way home from a speaking engagement at Wapella. Rick and Don were both patients at Wascana Rehab in Regina from Sept. 2007 to March 2008 where they received therapy for West Nile Disease. During this time, Kathleen & Glenda both lived in Wascana Hostel and often took rejuvenating walks in Wascana Park together. Rick and Kathleen now live in a charming bungalow in Ebenezer that they have named "Hope House". Kathleen and Rick both accept speaking engagements & do regular spots on "The Rock" 100.5 FM, Yorkton's Christian radio station. Kathleen, author of Sunny Side Up, West Nile Diary, Practice by Practice, among others, continues with her writing.

On Monday, Glenda Bell braved the mud & arrived in Bangor in time to have tea & a visit with Mom, Jessie Stokes, and the residents & staff of Morris Lodge.
