The Saskatchewan East Enterprise Region (SEER) and the Yorkton Tribal Council are partnering on a two-day summit this month designed to build bridges among the district's movers and shakers.

Titled TransACTIONS, the event runs on November 24 and 25 at the Gallagher Centre.

"The focus of the conference is to highlight the benefits of partnerships with different communities across the province-municipal, industrial, political, and aboriginal," says Michelle Andrews, an economic development officer with SEER. "We're just trying to showcase the benefits of working together, the positive relationships that can form as a result, and some of the success stories."

Speakers on the program include Chief Clarence Louie of the Osoyoos Indian Band in British Columbia; Sean Wise, industry advisor for CBC's Dragon's Den; and Chief Ovide Mercredi of the Misipawistik Cree Nation in northern Manitoba.

"The speakers lined up for the day include some very well-known speakers, and some that just have a great story to tell," says Andrews.

A $130 ticket covers both days of the conference including all meals. Tickets can be ordered by calling 728-2740 or by visiting www.picatic.com/ ticket/event650757.

"We are marketing this to businesspeople, municipal representatives... any leaders in the community or anyone looking to build partnerships with others," Andrews says.
