At its regular meeting Aug. 23, Yorkton Council passed a motion for the City of Yorkton to move forward with the design of storm water management ponds which were part of a report on storm water management report submitted by Bullee Consulting Ltd. in 2006.
Following that decision the City informed eight consultants for proposals for the Yorkton West Storm Drainage Study and Design, explained Fran Brimacombe, Manager of Engineering with the City at the regular meeting of Council Monday.
Two submissions were received and subsequently reviewed by three members of the Planning and Engineering Department, said Brimacombe.
Associated Engineering's submission "scored well above the submission from Bullee Consulting," detailed a report circulated to Council Monday.
"Associated Engineering's submission showed extensive knowledge and familiarity of the issues, methodology and experience," stated the report.
Associated Engineering offered a fixed fee quote for the Study of $103,000, slightly less than the Bullee Consulting offer.
The capital budget for the Study has been set at $115,000.
Council unanimously supported accepting the Administration recommendation to accept the Associated Engineering proposal.
