The monthly community birthday party was cancelled last Wednesday due to the snow and ice that brought us a rude awakening to winter. Glad to report that the weather had improved by Hallowe'en and a few trick & treaters came to the door. The costumed children who made their rounds were especially enjoyed by the seniors who do not get a chance to interact with the youngsters often enough. The weather is continuing to improve and, thank goodness, most of the ice and snow is disappearing. Highway travel is back to normal but the side roads need a few days yet.
