Yorkton Council approved submitting the names of four long-time City employees for Meritorious Service Awards at the 2011 Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention.
Council approved the recommendation of City Administration to submit the names of Leo Skaluba, Bruce Palmer, Norm Parachoniak and Terry Vehnon.
City Clerk Bonnie Schenher, told Council, at its regular meeting Monday, there are presently 33 City employees with 20, or more years of service, 26 which have previously been recognized through the SUMA awards. The four nominees this year were chosen based on their length of service and to get a cross-representation of employees, she said.
