"Serving as the voice of businesses in Yorkton", the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce has been a fixture in the Yorkton business community for 112 years. Today the Chamber represents nearly 450 businesses operating in and around the City of Yorkton.
The Chamber achieves its mandate by examining and responding to opportunities, issues and concerns that affect the growth and prosperity of its members and the community.
As a business person networking is important. The Chamber provides a number of networking opportunities including the Employee Recognition Event, Celebrate Success Business Awards, Chamber Business Dinner, Business After Hours, 5:05 Club, and Business Breakfasts and Lunches.
The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce also maintains an active website www.yorktonchamber.com a site which is constantly evolving. One of the features of the website is the Start Your Own Business section. It provides information on a wide range of topics relevant to entrepreneurs from preparing a financial statement to statistics about Yorkton and its trading area.
Staying in touch with member businesses is also important to the Yorkton Chamber. Each year, a survey is sent to all the member businesses asking for their opinions and ideas on a variety of topics relevant to Yorkton's business community. The Courier is the monthly newsletter which keeps member businesses informed of upcoming events and networking opportunities. Another benefit to membership in the Chamber is the ability for small businesses to access a Group Benefits Plan for their employees and a preferred pricing program on Visa and MasterCard transactions.
As the city grows, so too will the Chamber. The dedicated volunteers serving the Chamber will ensure that the Chamber continues to provide current and relevant information, services and events to its members - the Yorkton business community!
