On the morning of August 2, 2010, Yorkton RCMP were called to a complaint at a local business located on 2nd Avenue North in the downtown business district of Yorkton. Sometime during the previous evening, the front window to the theatre had been smashed, leaving a hole large enough for suspect(s) to gain entry into the building. Once inside the building, there is evidence to suggest that the culprit(s) knew where the safe was and intended to either take it with them or empty the contents of the safe while still in the building. They were unsuccessful in that attempt. The investigation is still ongoing.

If you have information about this or any other crime, please contact the Yorkton Municipal Detachment or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
