The body of 22-year-old Bryan Odell was found in the Whitesand River on Thursday afternoon after a 17-day search.
The discovery was made by family members Phil McManus and Cory Odell, who had been helping to search the river almost constantly since the Yorkton man fell off a dam near Canora on September 14.
Odell's body was spotted along the rivers edge from a boat. The young man's name was released after positive identification the following day.
Police say that water levels in the river had dropped significantly since the search began.RCMP members from the Canora/Sturgis, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, Police Dog Service, and Search and Rescue Team took part in the search, but it was volunteers and family members who put in most of the hours.
