Two concerts in January will open the second half of the Yorkton Arts Council's 2010/11 Stars for Saskatchewan series.

On Thursday, January 20, Ang猫le Dubeau & La Piet脿 come to town. This all-female string ensemble is led by Dubeau, perhaps the best-known classical violinist in Canada. With more than 400,000 album sales and performances in 25 countries behind her, Dubeau has been a key figuring in popularizing classical music in this country. Since its founding by Dubeau in 1997, La Piet脿 has itself topped charts in Canada and been lauded in venues around the world.

The second show of January features the Jorge Miguel Flamenco Ensemble on Friday the 28th. The Spanish-Canadian Miguel is a performer of authentic Flamenco music in all its complex, rhythmic stylings. Percussion, vocals, and dance back the acclaimed sounds of Miguel's nylon string guitar.

Both shows begin at 8 pm at the Anne Portnuff Theatre. Tickets are available through the Yorkton Arts Council office.
