As of Monday, there were two additional units on 鈥渟uspect outbreak,鈥 which due to a positive COVID case possibly transmitted on the unit. This 鈥渟uspect鈥 outbreak immediately triggers contact tracing as well as cohorting of staff and patients to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Depending on the contact tracing investigations, the suspect outbreak is either lifted or declared as an outbreak.

The medical and ICU units remain on 鈥渄eclared outbreak,鈥 which I believe is what we reported to you during the interview last week

Friday it was reprted the COPS chemotherapy unit was relocating to another site within the Yorkton Regional Health Centre to ensure patient safety for this vulnerable population.

Now endoscopy and minor procedure services have been reduced to only urgent and emergent cases.

All SHA guidelines have been implemented which include entrance screening for all patients and staff, enhanced PPE and cleaning, as well as frequent consultation with the Medical Health Officer and Infection Prevention and Control as needed to ensure proper practices.聽

Such efforts are done to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Anyone needing health care services from the YRHC should continue to do so knowing we are taking all necessary measures to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and the public.
