Saskatchewan Archery Association Holds Provincial Shoot

The River Valley Archery Club hosted a 3D Outdoor Shoot in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Archery Association on the 16th of July.

VEREGIN - The River Valley Archery Club hosted a 3D Outdoor Shoot in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Archery Association on the 16th of July.

The competition, which took place over a weekend, featured a total of 40 targets spread across two courses, offering archers a challenging and engaging experience.
The shoot attracted a diverse group of participants, with approximately 52 shooters of all ages and skill levels taking part in the event. Archers came from different regions of Saskatchewan, with some traveling significant distances to participate.
The competition featured two types of shooting categories: known and unknown. In the known category, archers were allowed to use rangefinders to judge distances accurately, while in the unknown category, they had to rely on their estimation skills without the aid of any devices. This added an extra layer of difficulty and excitement to the event.
Volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the event. Around 15 dedicated volunteers, including parents and non-members of the River Valley Archery Club, offered their support throughout the competition.
The organizers expressed gratitude for the support from the community and local businesses. The Prettyview schoolhouse served as the base for the competition, and the RM of Keys 303 (not the RM of Veregin as previously stated in the July 20 photo essay) allowed the use of their grounds for camping, accommodating archers from outside the area.
As the shoot concluded, the focus shifted to the award ceremonies and the distribution of medals.
