NORQUAY — At a recent community gathering on Oct. 1, Norquay residents came together to support a local fall supper at the Ukrainian Catholic Parish church, highlighting their eagerness to contribute to a common cause.
This longstanding tradition had taken a brief hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic but made a triumphant return. The event's purpose was to gather support and contributions from the community, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared commitment.
One of the church members, Diane said, “I don't know how many years but we've been doing it a long time. We didn't do it during COVID-19 naturally. And then right after COVID, the restrictions were lifted. We just did a strictly takeout fall supper for two years and this is our first that’s opening up.”
The supper offered a selection of foods including meatballs, mushroom soup, mashed potatoes with gravy, salads and vegetables, and turkey with a side of cranberry sauce.
