KAMSACK — Told that the decorative globe lighting on main street has deteriorated to a state of concern which can be hazardous to the public, Kamsack council approved the lights to be removed so that in the future they can be refurbished.
The decision was made at a June council meeting.
“The bases of the light poles are rusty and in some cases have been bent,” Mayor Nancy Brunt explained.
Because the flickering problem with the globe lights at the Kamsack Cenotaph has been fixed, those lights can probably stay as they are, but the others on the street will be taken down as public works finds the time during the summer.
