The event was hosted by an organizing committee made up of locals, Colleen Robinson, Reagan Foster, Lennie Abbott, Jeremy Korpusik, and Kevin Ebert.
The 小蓝视频 began with the singing of O’ Canada and included speeches by various representatives from local organizations, as well as Canora-Pelly 小蓝视频, Terry Dennis.
After the speeches, each of the sponsor families were invited to carry their banner, one at a time, to the centre of the park where the name of each featured veteran was announced for the crowd. Halfway through each presentation, the banner was turned to reveal another veteran on the opposite side. A total of 40 veterans were ultimately honoured on 20, two-sided banners.
Each full-colour, five-foot by 30-inch vinyl banner was created to honour a specific service person with a connection to Norquay and district. Included was: their name, era served, branch of service, photograph, and the name of the person(s), group, or business honouring them.
The banners will be displayed on Norquay’s Main Street light posts from late October to the end of November.
