OLMSTEAD - Lorraine Olmstead passed away at the Oliver Lodge, Saskatoon, SK on July 14, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Lorraine Peggy (Larson) Olmstead was born December 29, 1933 to Otto and Peggy (Krogstad) Larson.

Upon completion of her education, Lorraine moved to Saskatoon and was employed as a telephone operator. She met Harvey Olmstead and they were united in marriage in Norquay, SK on December 31, 1953. They were blessed with four daughters: Loretta, Dawn, Judy and Karen. Lorraine was a proud homemaker. She liked working with her hands, especially painting, quilting, sewing and crocheting. She always maintained a large garden and adored pickling and preserving her produce. Whenever she came across some berries she would promptly pick and preserve them. Lorraine had a vast knowledge of wild plant life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and after her sight failed, Harvey would assist her and they would collaborate on the puzzles together.

Lorraine鈥檚 kitchen was a treasured gathering place for her friends and daughter鈥檚 friends. She was very close to her grandchildren and always enjoyed looking after them even after the move to Norquay. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Peggy Larson; son-in-law, David Eddy; brother and sister-in-law, Doug (Nettie) Larson; brothers-in-law: Gordon Olmstead and Lesley Olmstead; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Flora (Bill) Goudy. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Olmstead; daughters: Louetta (Bob) Cormier, Dawn (Kevin) Braaten, Judy (Jerome) Zerr, and Karen (Barry) Knox; grandchildren: Anika (Mike) Poth, Ryan Cormier (Kasia Gawluk), Tim (Leanne) Eddy, Mathew (Kali) Eddy, Jay Braaten, Mike Olmstead (Kayla White), Nick (Brandi) Olmstead, and Dane and Dakota Knox; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Sonja, and Clark Poth, Sam, Sadie, and Abbie Eddy, Dax, Vann, and Wit Eddy and Denae, Pason, and Asher Olmstead; brothers: Clifford (Frances) Larson and family and Jerry (Evelyn) Larson and family; sister, Jean (Norman) Fullerton and family; sisters-in-law: Eloise Olmstead and Sarah Olmstead; and her nephew, John Olmstead; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
