The final graduating class at the Fort Livingstone School in Pelly was bid farewell during a 小蓝视频 on June 26.
The graduation exercises honouring the graduates took place in the school gymnasium at 7 p.m. The evening opened with Tara Blosha, the principal, welcoming everyone in attendance and congratulating the 2015 graduates.
Adrian Makohoniuk presented the 2013-2014 Governor General鈥檚 Medal to Morgan Wallington. The Skylar Negraeff and Ryan Pelechaty Memorial Award was presented to Jordan Andrusiak by Sara Negraeff, Shayna Kryger and Chrissy Pelechaty in honour of their brothers.
Among other awards and tributes, Darran Teneycke read the greetings on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
鈥淭here鈥檚 more to getting where you鈥檙e going than just knowing there鈥檚 a road鈥 was the slogan used by the graduating class.
Although this year鈥檚 class was the smallest in Fort Livingtone鈥檚 history, the two graduates had left their mark, it was said.
Jordan Sheldon, Dean Andrusiak and Kayle Lynda Stevenson read a tribute to the parents and thanked them for their many years of love and support that helped them reach their goals. A heartfelt reply was given by Sheldon Andrusiak.
Lyndon Musqua, a previous graduate of Fort Livingstone School, said he had been proud to have attended this small school and thanked the staff at the school, as well as the community, for having supported such a successful school.
Kayla Stevenson was the valedictorian.
Both graduating students plan to continue their education at the post-secondary level.
Beginning in September, Fort Livingstone School will be only a Kindergarten to Grade 8 facility, with the senior students 小蓝视频 bussed to Norquay School.
