聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Preeceville Health Action Plan committee organized a paint night with 103 community and area members registered. The evening was held at the Preeceville Community Legion Hall on February 10.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "People were encouraged to have fun while learning how to paint," said Stacey Strykowski, organizer. "The evening exceeded our expectations with 103 tickets sold and 10 dedicated volunteers in attendance. It was instructed by the Paint Nite franchise organizers with artists from the organization teaching the class.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Paint Nite provided all the paint, easels, brushes, canvasses and aprons, Strykowski said. The action plan committee provided the lunch and refreshments.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "The great thing about painting is that you don't have to be a professional," said Rebecca Winston, instructor. "Everyone's perception of art is different and the main focus is to have fun while learning how to paint with basic instructions. You don鈥檛 have to be artistic to get creative.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In 2012, founders Dan Hermann and Sean McGrail launched Paint Nite, she said. Inspired by a party serving beer and wine at a painting studio, they ran with a concept that enables people to get social while unleashing their inner artist.
Hermann and McGrail strive to support local artists and small businesses by providing them with the unique opportunity to run Paint Nite events, she said.
