There鈥檚 a new face you鈥檒l be seeing if you鈥檙e a patient of the Outlook Dental Clinic.
Dr. Olufemi Disu, originally from Nigeria, has joined the team headed up by Dr. Abe Chaukla.
Speaking by phone with The Outlook, Dr. Disu explained that he had another career aspiration, but life in his native country ended up taking him down the path that would eventually lead to dentistry.
鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 exactly by choice, I originally had plans to become a medical doctor,鈥� he said.聽 鈥淏ut in Nigeria, my home country, some things don鈥檛 really work out the way they should, so I followed the path to become a dentist.鈥�
Dr. Disu hasn鈥檛 spent a lot of time in Outlook just yet, but his one visit to the community at the time of this interview led him to believe that it鈥檚 a place he鈥檒l be proud to call home in the near future.
鈥淢y first impression is that everyone seems to be very welcoming,鈥� he said.聽 鈥淥utlook looks like a place that will eventually feel like home to me.聽 That鈥檚 kind of the first impression that I got from Outlook.鈥�
In dentistry, it can be a little daunting in the role of a patient to put one鈥檚 trust into a brand-new doctor, what with the sometimes extremely sensitive work 小蓝视频 done in such a vital part of the human body.聽 Dr. Disu believes gaining that initial trust can be a big challenge in his line of work.
鈥淐hallenges in my line of work?聽 Well, one is getting the confidence of the patient,鈥� he said.聽 鈥淲hen you鈥檙e dealing with people, sometimes it can be difficult for them to say, 鈥極kay, you have full control.聽 Do whatever you want鈥�.聽 Getting that initial confidence and assurance is something that I鈥檇 say is the most difficult part.鈥�
Conversely, starting on the road from start to finish with a patient is gratifying for Olufemi, and he gets satisfaction from gaining the confidence of patients who trust that he鈥檒l give them the best treatment possible.聽 Dr. Disu anticipates seeing what the Outlook Dental Clinic, and the community itself, have to offer.
鈥淭he best thing about 小蓝视频 a dentist for me is the satisfaction you get out when you see someone from the beginning to the finish,鈥� he said.聽 鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to meeting everybody and seeing what the community has to offer.聽 I鈥檓 also looking forward to seeing how we can make the dental clinic even better.鈥�
